My crew from Michigan joined up for a Marblehead Walleye Casting Charter on Lake Erie in Ohio Waters. These guys have been with me for a few years and enjoy casting for walleye. They have never trolled with me and always seem to find a day that has more than enough wind to cast. This group is full of die hard casters and they always produce a nice haul. Their Walleye casting charter has never found a full boat limit but that was about to change today. We fished in the same area I ended yesterday for the casting tournament.
Very early in the day Ronnie managed a very nice Fish Ohio 29.5” Lake Erie Walleye. I could have really used that fish the day before to win the tournament but I was still very happy that Ronnie caught it for his personal best.
The wind was strong and we battled through several wind shifts during the day. The weather this season has been nothing short of chaotic and unpredictable. As our day went on the wind decided it was going to come to a complete standstill at the end of our day with us being about 2 limits short. I was able to make a few moves finding a small pocket of fish. The guys worked hard with gold harnesses to finally finish out the 7 man limit right on time for their Walleye Casting Charter.
The day ended on a great note with a full cooler and the guys booked for next year already. They enjoy casting for Walleye and it is always one of my favorite groups to fish with. They are a very humbled and appreciative group that makes spending long days away from my family a little easier for me. There is nothing better than being able to catch walleye with a casting rod.
