The group for today is another repeat client; Luckystone Promotions is the company that makes all of our apparel for the business and she books a trip each year for the guys in her family.  They have done 2 different Yellow Perch fishing trips with me in the past having success the first year and a slower day the second year. With this year being such a great Walleye season I suggested that they try a Walleye Trip.  The weather was forecasted to be great and the fishing had been phenomenal close to home.  The group is made up of a Joel, his son Jacob and father in Law Al, Al’s longtime friend Dave and his son Chris.  This group is one of the funniest ones I have and Dave and Al spend the entire day joking with each other and telling stories.  As we started setting lines we had once again set up on a hot spot for sheep head, this has happened a few times this season and the only thing you can do is drive out of them and continue to keep clearing lines.

We trolled on a North and South line about a mile outside of Channel Grove Marina, with our best spot just to the west of the harbor entrance.  The hot leads of the day were 25-35 back with spoons pulled behind Tru Trip Jets.  The speed that was best for the day was 2.6 mph which is faster than what we have been running on the “Erie Breeze”.  The spoon bite in the South Passage has been on fire for over 2 months, the migrating fish have been staging here since the post spawn stage.  We ended our day with a full boat limit of 36 Lake Erie Walleye on the charter for Joel and his family.  Our Lake Erie Walleye Charters have been so great all year and fishing so close to Marblehead has been a nice change of pace from the year before where some longer runs have had to be made at this time of year.  We are looking forward to see what the future holds.

We hope to be your Lake Erie Fishing Charter
